KNIPEX: brand history

KNIPEX is a German brand of professional tools founded in 1882 by Carl Gustav Putsch. It all began with a small forge in the basement of the family home. This forge grew into a small factory, and eventually into a world-renowned pliers specialist. Our products are manufactured exclusively in Wuppertal, Germany, so that we can control every stage of the manufacturing process to ensure the quality of our products.

Originally, KNIPEX specialized in the production of pliers for carpenters and farriers. Over the years, they have developed and expanded their product range to offer an extensive selection of professional-quality tools for a variety of applications. Today, KNIPEX offers pliers ranging from simple cutting pliers to specialized tools such as wrench cutters, "Cobolt®" bolt cutters, "Cobra®" multi-grip pliers and the "ErgoStrip®" universal stripping tool, which combines three tools in one for cable processing.

Several other companies have joined KNIPEX over the years. Today, the KNIPEX Group comprises 3 companies in addition to the one of the same name:

• RENNSTEIG, which has been manufacturing professional hand tools since 1959.
