BRONSON: The history of the brand

BRONSON Speed Co. is a brand of bearings that has been developed specifically for skateboarding. The goal of the brand is to produce the fastest and most durable bearings possible for skateboarding.

What are the different types of boards for skateboarding?

• Mini-cruiser or Penny : This is a plastic board that is smaller than the cruiser and very light. It is mainly used for tight turns and carving.
• Freeboard : This board has six wheels, instead of the traditional four. These extra wheels allow riders to perform 360° rotations effortlessly while maintaining a high speed.
• Mountainboard : As the name suggests, this all-terrain board is suitable for any environment: mountains, forests, sand or any other place where the terrain can be uneven. The board's wide design houses four inflatable wheels that help reduce bumps and shocks along the way.
• Surfskate : This board allows for the same type of maneuvering as surfing, and its front truck allows for lateral activity. You can accelerate, with every movement of your body, without having to constantly put your foot on the ground as traditional skateboarding requires.
• Hoverboard : it is a gyropod board with two wheels. The hoverboard can move forward thanks to an electric propulsion and it is intended for urban use.
• Waveboard : it is a board composed of two plastic plates. They are linked together and have two wheels. The movements of your body (undulations) allow you to ride in urban areas.

All brands of skateboard Trucks use 608 bearings, i.e. bearings compatible with 8mm axles. The main bearings offered by the BRONSON brand are the following:

• 608 BRONSON G2 bearings: These are bearings with a deep groove track, frictionless flanges and specific lubrication. Indeed, the balls are deeper than in conventional bearings. This protects the bearings from side impact. Second, the non-contact rubber flanges reduce oil leakage and dust intrusion. And finally, the oil that lubricates these bearings is combined with nano-ceramic compounds to protect them from corrosion, rust and moisture.
• 608 BRONSON G3 bearings: These are the best-known bearings of the brand, as they have several innovative features in addition to the G2 bearings. Indeed, the surface of the bearing tracks has multiple microscopic grooves. This allows for better lubrication distribution. The nylon cage, which holds the balls, is glass-filled to prevent deformation and maintain ball accuracy. The balls are oriented outward to improve the speed of the bearing.
• 608 BRONSON SPEED RAW bearings: these bearings do not have protective flanges. A pleasant sound is thus appreciated from the first use. The bearings have a special tungsten coating which reduces the accumulation of dust and dirt. These bearings also have a glass-reinforced nylon cage to prevent distortion.
• 608 BRONSON ceramic bearings: these bearings have the same characteristics as G3 bearings, the difference is the composition of the balls. Indeed, the balls are made of hot-sintered silicon nitride ceramics.
